CodeUI.apk is a mobile development-focused event where participants are challenged to create visually appealing UI/layouts using XML, Jetpack Compose, Flutter, SwiftUI, or any other framework of their choosing. Participants will be given a components checklist or app idea and must demonstrate creativity and technical skills in UI design. Winners will be decided based on creativity and app experience.

  • Participation: Individual
  • Submission in one or both tracks allowed
  • Use XML, Jetpack Compose, Flutter, SwiftUI, or any mobile development framework
  • Creativity in creating unique and visually appealing layouts
  • Originality required, avoid replicas of existing designs
  • Judging based on creativity, user experience, and visual appeal
  • Submission deadline enforced, late entries not accepted
  • Problem Statement: Designing an eye-catching and user-friendly interface is an essential aspect of modern-day app development. In this event, CodeUI.apk, first-year students are tasked with demonstrating their creativity and technical skills by building a visually appealing, non-functional UI using Flutter widgets and Kotlin/SwiftUI components. The goal is to create a UI that not only looks good but also captures the essence of the designer's unique style. Bonus points will be awarded for creating a responsive UI that adjusts to different screen sizes seamlessly. While students can take inspiration from UI design sites like Pinterest, Behance, Dribble, etc., it is crucial to remember that the UI should not be an exact copy of designs found on these sites. This event is an excellent opportunity for first-year students to showcase their understanding of Flutter widgets and Kotlin/SwiftUI components and how they can be utilised to build a beautiful UI while also highlighting their creative abilities.
